Act One Parties provide tailor made parties for all ages from 2 – 11 years in Surrey and also areas of Hampshire & Berkshire. All parties are run by Joanne McGowan, a qualified dance and drama teacher with over 12 years experience entertaining children. Joanne is fully CRB checked and insured. Her fun and bubbly personality combined with her experience means that Joanne's parties are both energetic and imaginative, but most of all great fun!

There are two types of parties on offer: -

1. Performance Parties – Party starts with a fun warm-up and then the party guests learn song and dance routines and/or a short acting scene ready to perform to parents at the end of the party. A selection of party games are also included which can be anything from themed traditional party games, treasure hunts/trails, sensory games, quizzes, bubble fun, party dances, relays and parachute games. The party ends with a performance involving all the children. Your child's chance to be the star of the show!

Popular themes include – High School Musical, Mamma Mia, Hannah Montana, Hairspray, Camp Rock, Grease, Fame, I-Carly, X Factor/Britains Got Talent, Mary Poppins, Lazy Town, Annie, Wizard of Oz, Any Disney film, Bugsy Malone, Pop Star parties (learn routines to your favourite pop star/group), Strictly Dancing.

2. Adventure Parties – Taking a theme of the birthday child's choice, Joanne leads all the children through a series of games and activities which can include themed traditional party games, treasure hunts/trails, bubble fun, sensory games, quizzes, relays, mini assault courses, party dances and parachute games and also an imaginative drama led adventure into the world of your child's favourite character/ TV programme/ book or film. A high energy party that keeps all the children involved and having a great time.

Popular themes have included – Ben 10, Fairy Tale Princesses, Ballerinas, Dinosaurs, Monsters, Outer Space, Superheroes (Superman, SpiderMan, Power Rangers, Transformers, Batman etc), Cbeebies (Charlie & Lola, Bob the Builder, Fireman Sam, Postman Pat, Waybuloo, Timmy Time, In the Night Garden, Pingu, etc), Lazytown Sports Day, Thomas the Tank Engine/Chuggington, Wizard of Oz, Mermaids, Pirates, Nick Jr/Milkshake (Noddy, Fifi, Dora, Peppa Pig, Roary,Little Princess etc), Scooby Doo, Any Disney Film, Star Wars, Doctor Who.

Or a favourite book – e.g. Harry Potter, Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe, Faraway Tree/Enchanted Wood, Dinosaurs/Aliens Love Underpants.

The themes listed above are purely suggestions and Joanne can plan and adapt the parties to suit any chosen theme. Themes can also be combined for a truly unique party. Each party is planned around each child’s interests and personality – so no two parties are the same but they are all great fun.

Joanne will arrive around 30 minutes before the start time of the party to set up and to be around to greet the party guests as they arrive. She can keep them entertained with colouring/puzzles/quizzes until all guests have arrived. She then runs the whole party from start to finish to enable you to organise the food and enjoy the party.
